Rode SMR Shock Mount

OVERVIEW
The SMR is a game-changing shock mount designed by RØDE for large diaphragm condenser microphones. It boasts a unique double-Lyre suspension system that improves upon the already exceptional vibration cancellation of Rycote’s Lyre system. By incorporating a smaller inner Lyre as a tensioning element, the SMR maintains each Lyre in its most efficient position for cancelling vibration. Additionally, the SMR features a removable all-metal pop filter that not only looks sleek, but also provides effective protection against plosives. This filter is easily washable and built to last as long as the shock mount and microphone.

The SMR’s clamping system is designed for increased friction and weight handling, without the need for excessive tightening. This is made possible by utilizing a larger surface area, making the clamping system resistant to wear and tear from repeated use. The frame of the SMR is constructed from an engineering grade reinforced polymer, typically only found in high-load applications such as safety equipment and military artillery. The wide mounting rails evenly distribute vibration force around the outer frame, further enhancing the effectiveness of the Lyre system. And to top it off, the SMR also includes a base nut that is compatible with all RØDE microphones.
