Overview
The LUMIX GH7 is a highly advanced mirrorless camera that offers exceptional performance for video production. Its 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor provides high resolution and fast response, while the 13+ stop dynamic range boost*3 ensures rich gradation in images. The camera also features PDAF for high-speed and high-precision AF performance, as well as real-time auto-focus recognition AF for airplanes and trains. Additionally, the GH7 has improved image stabilization technology, including perspective distortion correction for videos and High mode in Active I.S. for powerful compensation when shooting on the move.

The GH7 also offers enhanced video quality and optimized workflows, with internal recording of 5.7K 30p ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes RAW HQ*1. It is the worlds first camera to offer 32-bit float recording*2, eliminating the need to adjust audio levels during shooting. The camera also supports proxy recording for efficient workflow and native Camera to Cloud integration with Adobes Frame.io. With its dust and splash resistance*5 and freeze-resistance down to -10 degrees Celsius/14 degrees Fahrenheit, the LUMIX GH7 is a reliable and versatile choice for video production in any environment.

About the Panasonic GH7 – Body Only
The LUMIX GH7 delivers outstanding video performance, wide dynamic range with a newly developed 25.2MP BSI CMOS sensor, and improved AF performance with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus). To support the efficient workflow required in professional production environments, the GH7 is newly equipped with Apple ProRes RAW*1 internal recording and the World’s first 32-bit float recording*2, which eliminates the need to adjust sound recording levels during shooting.

With the rapid increase in demand for video content in recent years, the number of small teams of video creators is rising, along with the demand for further improvements in the quality of mirrorless cameras with excellent video performance and portability. Since its release in 2009, our LUMIX GH series has developed a strong reputation among creators and video production teams as a model renowned for its shooting performance, innovative features and reliability

The LUMIX GH7 is a next-generation mirrorless camera that meets the needs of creators, whatever their creative field may be.

Pro Features for Pro Content

GH7 brings key upgrades to make your content clearer, and brighter than ever before. Phase Hybrid AF continuously tracks subjects, allowing the GH7 to capture them quickly and precisely. The camera’s Dynamic Range Boost enables a wide dynamic range at all ISO sensitivity ranges.

Efficient Workflow

GH7 is built to make your workflow seamless. ProRes RAW HQ internal recording and 32-bit float format recording can be performed on the camera body itself, making it possible to produce high-quality and high-efficiency content with minimal setup.

World’s First 32-bit Float RecordingWhen combined with the DMW-XLR2 (sold separately), the LUMIX GH7 delivers the world’s first 32-bit float recording,* improving the quality and efficiency of the entire workflow. With its wide dynamic range, the 32-bit float format records more information, from quiet to loud sounds, eliminating the need for tedious sound level adjustments during audio recording.

*For an interchangeable lens digital camera, as of June 5th 2024. According to Panasonic’s research.

ProRes RAW HQ Internal Recording

5.7K 30p ProRes RAW HQ footage can be recorded on the camera body itself, giving you the freedom to capture the moment at the click of a button with minimal setup and no need for external devices. Improved gimbal compatibility also expands the range of expressions.

*Recording is not possible on the SD card.

ARRI LogC3 Recording

By using DMW-SFU3A Software Upgrade Key (sold separately), users can use the ARRI LogC3*, which enables color matching with ARRI’s digital cinema cameras. The image processing of the ARRI LogC3 curve on LUMIX GH7 has been certified by ARRI for the implementation of this function. The options for Log recording, which provides rich color information and a wide dynamic range, have been expanded to include ARRI LogC3 in addition to the conventional V-Log, further improving LUMIX’s workflow compatibility.

*ARRI LogC3 is a Log gamma developed by ARRI and used in ARRI digital cinema cameras. Please note: ALEXA 35 uses ARRI LogC4.
*On the LUMIX GH7, ARRI LogC3 can be used for 10bit recording in Creative Video mode.
・ARRI is registered trademarks of Arnold & Richter Cine Technik GmbH & Co. Betriebs KG.

Outstanding Reliability

No need to stop shooting due to overheating. The GH7’s compact body and heat dissipation structure enable extended recording even when shooting at heavy loads (4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p, ProRes RAW HQ).

Phase Hybrid AF

The most important thing with autofocus is to be dependable. In addition to contrast AF, the LUMIX GH7 offers the Phase Detection AF system, which dramatically improves subject tracking performance and metering technologies. The camera can capture the subject even in challenging scenes in which multiple subjects are involved, delivering accuracy even in backlit or low-light environments.

Real-time Recognition

The LUMIX’s advanced detection AF pushes the envelope on sports, wildlife, and car/motorcycle photography. The LUMIX GH7 can now recognize a wider range of subjects and target parts, including human and animal eyes, the front of vehicles, the helmets of drivers and motorcyclists, the first car of a train, and the nose of an airplane.

Richer Tonal Expression

Dynamic Range Boost function acquires two types of images with a single exposure and synthesizes them in real time to create composite images with rich tonal range even in scenes with significant luminance differences. With still images, it allows for richer expression of shadow tones in RAW data. With video, it enables 13+-stop V-Log/V-Gamut recording.

Real-time LUT

LUTs can be applied to photos and videos on the camera body itself, allowing you to create photos and videos straight out of the camera. Supports “.VLT” and “.CUBE” file formats. By utilizing this feature, you can save time on the complicated post-editing process. In combination with the LUMIX Lab app, you can easily create your own LUTs and install them on the camera.

LUMIX Lab App

GH7’s ultra-fast Wi-Fi connection lets you pair the camera with your smartphone in three steps and transfer content seamlessly. You can also crop, adjust brightness, and apply LUTs, enabling simple editing for any social media platform to be done in a snap.

Native Camera-to-Cloud integration with Adobe’s Frame.io

With Frame.io Camera to Cloud, creator’s images and videos are automatically uploaded, backed up, shared, and worked on jointly via the cloud.

Live Streaming

Choose your favorite streaming approach to share your latest in real time! For outdoor use, wireless live streaming (RTMP/RTMPS) is easy to set up with the LUMIX Sync app. For indoor use, highly stable wired live streaming (RTP/RTSP) is also available.

Unlimited Video Recording Time

Offering 4:2:2 10-bit C4K/4K 60p/50p internal recording, the LUMIX GH7 delivers unlimited recording time when used at the recommended operating temperature (-10°F–104°F).

Ideal for small production teams and in demanding conditions where mobility and high-quality are a must. Also allows for simultaneous internal recording and external recording via HDMI output.

*CFexpress card or an SD memory card with Video Speed Class 90 is required.
