CoreSWX Komodo V-Mt Battery Plate

Overview
The CXV-KOMU is a BP to V-mount plate direct mount specifically designed for the RED® KOMODO™ camera. It allows for the use of 14.4V V-Mount batteries while still leaving the camera’s DC input available for AC power and battery hot swap. This plate also has the capability to read battery percentage and runtime when used with “smart” batteries that pass SMBUS data, such as Core SWX batteries. It is equipped with 3 DC output ports: P-Tap, USB, and 2pin Lemo, making it a versatile and convenient option for powering the RED KOMODO.

It is important to note that some batteries may not provide data, and in this case, the plate will display the battery as fully charged to avoid any errors. However, it is recommended to use batteries that do pass data for accurate battery capacity information. Additionally, it has been observed that the plunger contact pins on the KOMODO may get stuck over time, causing issues with data transfer from the plate. Regular maintenance and cleaning of these pins is recommended for optimal performance.

When used with “smart” batteries that pass SMBUS data, like Core SWX batteries, the camera will read battery percentage and runtime, providing accurate remaining battery capacity info. It’s equipped with 3 DC output ports: P-Tap, USB, and 2pin Lemo.

NOTE:

1. When a battery that does not provide data is connected to the plate, our plate will show this as a 100% charged battery to the camera. The plate dummies this battery data so that the unapproved battery data screen does not happen at power up.

2. Some batteries claim to pass battery data when they in fact do not output standard battery data. In these situations the battery will read as 100% on the battery percentage read out as mentioned above.

3. We have seen that after a while some of the plunger contact pins on the komodo itself will get stuck in. When the pins get stuck down they cannot make a secure enough connection to pass data from the plate to the camera and will cause the unapproved error.
