The SAM-10 fits seamlessly into oconnor tripods without the need for additional rods or plates. It allows for vibration-free operation at focal lengths over 1000mm and supports various zoom lenses adhering to the studio lens support standard. This compact and versatile rigging solution offers multiple accessory mounting points for attaching lens motors, providing benefits for remote head and fixed-installation applications.

The new ARRI SAM-10 is a featherweight but rock-solid tool for rigging ALEXA 35 and ALEXA Mini LF cameras to ultra-telephoto lenses such as the Canon CN20x50. Built for and field-tested by top wildlife and natural history cinematographers such as Ivo Nörenberg, it is up to 2kg lighter than a typical studio baseplate configuration. The SAM-10 was designed to be as compact as possible: ideal for cinematographers who need to pack light for long-distance solo travel to the farthest corners of the planet.

The SAM-10 fits natively into oconnor tripods just like the standard ARRI dovetail. The plate requires no rods, bridge plate, camera base plate or additional lens support. Any BUD-system compatible camera can slide onto the SAM-10, and your long lens of choice is secured with a large, glove-friendly, captive thumbscrew. Multiple accessory mounting points offer the ability to attach short rods for lens motors if required.

Testing has shown that the SAM-10 enables vibration-free operation at focal lengths of over 1000mm. While the SAM-10 was designed with the Canon CN20x50 50-1000mm zoom in mind, the standard spacing also supports other zooms adhering to the studio lens support standard. This can drastically reduce the weight and size of large zoom packages, providing benefits for remote head and fixed-installation applications.
