OVERVIEW
The Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary Line Lens is a lightweight super telephoto lens that is perfect for capturing stunning images. With its compact construction, this lens is easy to handle and a versatile addition to the “Contemporary” line of Sigma optics. It is also compatible with Sigma’s latest teleconverter range, making it a highly adaptable lens.

Optically, this lens features one FLD and three SLD glass elements that work together to provide superb correction of chromatic aberration. The lens power distribution has been optimized to minimize this issue throughout the zoom range. The FLD element, in particular, has a low refractive index and high anomalous dispersion, resulting in reduced secondary spectrum chromatic aberration that cannot be achieved with conventional glasses.

The Sigma 150-600mm C Lens also boasts an improved focusing system, thanks to Sigma’s HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) with an improved algorithm. This allows for more efficient focus in AF-C continuous mode, with a 5% increase in focus efficiency. The lens also has two manual focus override modes, one of which allows for manual focus even during continuous AF. The sensitivity of this mode can be adjusted using the optional Sigma USB Dock, which can also be used to update lens firmware.

This lens is designed for resilience, with a Dustproof and Splashproof construction and a water and oil repellent coating on its outer lens elements. The lens mount also features rubber sealing for added protection. The included tripod socket is made of magnesium for strength and low mass, and can be removed for a further reduction in weight and bulk. To ensure consistency and accuracy while shooting, the lens has a Zoom Lock switch that prevents the focal length from changing during shooting.

The Intelligent OS (Optical Stabilisation) of the Sigma 150-600mm lens has been updated with a new algorithm for greater precision. It also includes an acceleration sensor, making it ideal for panning applications such as motorsports. The lens has two modes, one for general photography and the other specifically designed for panning shots. And to ensure the highest quality, this lens is tested using the latest A1 MTF measuring system and is manufactured in Japan.

More compact than the 150-600mm Sports version, this lightweight super-telephoto zoom lens is easy to handle and a versatile addition to the “Contemporary” line of Sigma optics. It is also compatible with Sigma’s latest teleconverter range.

Optically the lens uses one FLD and three SLD glass elements together with optimisation of lens power distribution and minimised chromatic aberration of magnification – for better control of this problem right through the zoom range. Specifically the FLD element has a low refractive index and high anomalous dispersion which draws the benefit of reduction of secondary spectrum (residual) chromatic aberration, which cannot be achieved using conventional glasses.

There is improved focusing using Sigma’s HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) with an improved algorithm to allow the AF-C continuous mode to improve focus efficiency by around 5%. There are two manual focus override modes, one of these allowing override to manual focus even during continuous AF, and its sensitivity is adjustable via the optional Sigma USB Dock. The dock can also be used to update lens firmware.

For extra resilience, the 150-600mm C Lens is Dustproof and Splashproof and has a water & oil repellent coating for its outer lens elements and rubber sealing around the lens mount.
