The RODE Blimp 2 Rycote Shockmount is the newest version of the popular microphone windshield system. It features an improved Rycote shockmount and handle design, making it 25% lighter than its predecessor. This makes it the perfect accessory for any professional recording setup.
The Blimp is specifically designed to greatly reduce handling and wind noise, providing crystal clear audio recordings. It can accommodate most shotgun microphones up to 325mm (12 ¾”) in length, including the RODE NTG-1, NTG-2, and NTG-3 microphones.
The Blimps adjustable dual hoop suspension system ensures that your microphone stays securely in place, while the acoustically transparent dome protects against wind noise. The Dead Wombat windshield, caring brush, and tail cable are all included, making it a complete and convenient solution for your recording needs.
The Blimp can be easily attached to any standard boompole via a 3/8″ thread attachment at the base. For even more versatility, the Universal Blimp Mount is available as an option to remove the handle when using the Blimp primarily on a boompole, reducing its weight.

About The Rode Blimp V2 Rycote Shockmount
This newest version of the RODE Blimp now features an improved Rycote shockmount and handle design and is 20% lighter than its predecessor.
The RODE Blimp is a complete windshield and shock mounting accessory for the NTG-1, NTG-2 and NTG-3 microphones, as well as any third party shotgun microphone up to 325mm in length.
Its adjustable dual-hoop suspension design greatly reduces handling noise, while the acoustically transparent dome provides protection against wind noise.
In addition to RODE shotguns, the blimp accommodates most shotgun microphones up to 325mm (12 ¾”) in length.
The Blimp attaches to any standard boompole via 3/8″ thread attachment at the base. The Universal Blimp Mount is available as an option to remove the handle when the Blimp is being used primarily on a boompole to reduce weight.
The Dead Wombat windshield, caring brush and tail/patch cable are included.
