Firecrest Ultra Superslim 3 Filter Kit

Formatt Hitech has recently released a new range of cinema grade glass filters, the Firecrest Ultra Cine Superslim 4×5.65 IRND filters. These filters are only 2mm thick and are designed for use with lightweight cinema camera setups, such as drones, Steadicams, and gimbals. They are also ideal for reducing the weight of equipment that needs to be carried by the user. Despite their slim design, these filters maintain the high quality and neutrality that Firecrest filters are known for.

The Firecrest Ultra Cine Superslim 4×5.65 IRND filters are compatible with lightweight matte boxes like the Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom, and a dedicated 2mm filter tray is available for ARRI standard matteboxes. They can also be used in regular 4mm trays by placing two filters together. For those looking for the lowest possible form factor, the new filters are also compatible with the Firecrest 100mm MKII holder, which can hold both the 2mm Superslim filter and standard 100mm x 100mm filters. Additionally, the holder can accommodate an 86mm circular polariser, which can be used in combination with the other filters or on its own.

About the Firecrest Ultra Superslim 3 Filter Kit
Formatt Hitech have introduced a new range of cinema grade glass filters that are just 2mm thick. The Firecrest Ultra Cine Superslim 4×5.65 IRND filters are designed for all those times you need a cinema camera setup with minimum weight to fly on a drone, Steadicam, gimbal, or just to lighten the load on your back when you have to carry your own kit. They are the lightest possible 4×5.65 cinema grade glass filter, weighing in at around half of an equivalent standard thickness 4mm ND filter, while maintaining the same excellent neutrality and optical quality that Firecrest filters are renowned for.

It makes them the perfect solution to marry with ultra-lightweight matte boxes like the Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom. For ARRI standard matteboxes a dedicated 2mm filter tray from Formatt is available. This will allow the filters to be used in most Bright Tangerine, Chroziel, Wooden Camera and ARRI matteboxes. Alternatively the slimness of the filter allows two 2mm filters to be placed together in a regular 4mm tray. The Bright Tangerine Atom takes things one step further by allowing a 2mm Superslim and a regular 4mm filter to be combined together.

For users requiring a filter attachment system with the lowest possible form factor the new filters are also compatible with the new Firecrest 100mm MKII holder. This low-profile filter holder accepts the 2mm Superslim 4×5.65 as well as standard 100mm x 100mm photographic glass or resin filters. It secures them to your lens thread via adapter rings in sizes from 67mm to 86mm. In addition the holder can take the included 86mm circular polariser at the same time. This polariser can be used in combination with the other filters or on its own.

They are the lightest possible 4×5.65 cinema grade glass filter, weighing in at around half of an equivalent standard thickness 4mm ND filter, while maintaining the same excellent neutrality and optical quality that Firecrest filters are renowned for.
