With the incorporation of Core’s groundbreaking new AUX connection, PD Pro, the two PD Pro taps on the pack boast the capacity to output voltages ranging from 5V to 28V. Coupled with two standard ptaps, the Edge Snap offers unparalleled flexibility, empowering users to power up to four accessories concurrently. Be it cameras, lights, monitors, or other indispensable equipment, the Edge Snap ensures dependable and consistent power delivery, ensuring seamless operation to keep your production running seamlessly.

The hot-swappable and stackable design of the Edge Snap enables quick and effortless addition or removal of packs, ensuring continuous power supply to accessories while allowing for convenient charging. Additionally, the PD Pro ports facilitate charging via USBC-PD, while the innovative stickability feature enables parallel charging of multiple packs through a single USBC-PD charge connection, further enhancing efficiency and convenience.

Moreover, while the Snap packs feature one 1/4-20 connection, the Edge Snap QRC plate(sold separately) allows the packs to be mounted through a multitude of 1/4-20 and 3/8 anti-rotational connections, along with both 1/4-20 threads to attach to compact handheld DSLR/ cinema cameras or a standard V-lock shoe mechanical mount for a wide-array of mounting options. A wrap-around RGB LED power indicator allows you to always know your battery status, and you can colour code the packs for various rig setups.

Each pack is equipped with a Voltbridge iD chip, to access accumulated battery data, FW data, along with increased battery functionality. Simply wave your phone near the pack to access vital stats.

The PD Pro Cable is engineered with a rugged and reliable design, using high-quality materials to ensure consistent and secure connections. This high-quality cable allows you to efficiently power devices equipped with a 4-pin TA4 connector, delivering consistent power from the PD Pro AUX connection and it supports SMBUS battery telemetry.

Technical Note

Core’s PD Pro is a highly adaptable power platform designed to support a wide range of auxiliary video and audio devices, offering flexible power output solutions tailored to various production needs. While the PDP-USBC cable allows the connected device to determine the necessary voltage, all other PD Pro cables deliver a fixed voltage pre-set by Core for each specific application. These fixed outputs are optimized to ensure peak performance for your devices.

It’s important to verify that your devices can handle the fixed voltage provided by PD Pro cables, similar to how you would with an unregulated P-Tap cable. For example, while unregulated P-Tap cables may output a wide voltage range (11-17V DC), a PD Pro cable designed for 12V 2-pin LEMO input devices consistently provides a regulated 15V output. This mid-range voltage is carefully calibrated for balance and efficiency, ensuring neither excessively high nor low output, maximizing device stability.
