ARRI Handle Extension Set

Overview
The ARRI handle extension system set includes different lengths ranging from HEX-1 to HEX-5, one in 90°, and two hand shells (wooden and plastic). The set comes with a foam inlay which can be fitted into a Peli 1170 Case (case not included). This foam inlay provides added protection and organization for the handle extensions when storing or transporting them. The handle extensions follow the design of the Camera Center Handle CCH-4 and can be connected in multiple ways to extend a top handle or create a custom handle design. The HEX numbers correspond to the number of 3/8″-16 interfaces on the top, with the HEX-1 having one and the HEX-5 having five. The system also includes anti-twist locating pins and various screw and interface options.

In addition to the handle extensions, the set also includes two hand shells – one made of walnut wood and one made of plastic. These shells can be attached to the HEX-5 or HEX-4, or combined with shorter HEX lengths through the slotted hole design. This allows for a more comfortable and secure grip on the handle extensions. The system can also be used to create a “Hollywood Handle” which allows the operator to control the camera from the back without interfering with the on-board battery. Each component of the ARRI handle extension system is sold separately, giving users the flexibility to choose the lengths and shells that best suit their needs.

About the ARRI Handle Extension Set

HEX-1, HEX-2, HEX-3, HEX-4, HEX-5, HEX-90

The Handle Extensions follow the design of the Camera Center Handle CCH-4. The number of each HEX refers to the number of 3/8″-16 interfaces on the top (HEX-1 has one and HEX-5 five of them.) They can be connected in multiple ways in order to extend a top handle but also to build your own handle design. Some people like the HEX-90 to be connected directly at the back of a CCH-2 on the MINI or MINI LF.

Every HEX offers a 3/8″-16 screw at the front (ARRI Multi-HEX screw with 4 different tool options) with two anti-twist locating pins and the correspondent thread interface at the back. Multiple RMB-3 as well as 1/4″-20 interfaces are included as well.

The system can also be used to build a so-called “Hollywood Handle”. This allows the operator to operate the camera from the back without touching the on-board battery.
